XBOX 2 and Sakaguchi

So like I said before, I'm planning to make the switch to a PowerBook G4 by the end of 05, sometime after the release of Mac OS X Tiger (hopefully). I don't hate Microsoft with the vengeance of some Mac users, but I don't like them either. They make stuff too technical, complicated, and often bug-ridden. I especially hate how they use every possible means to tear apart and buy out the competition. That's the business world, I guess. If there's one thing I see really cool about Microsoft, it's the XBOX. But for me, getting a console would be a tough decision—the PS2 looks cool too. Josiah said he would go with the PS2. He's a big fan of the Playstation—mainly because of Square Enix's Final Fantasy series.

But now, it seems Microsoft isn't just happy with Halo 2. They want the RPG market too. They've hired Hironobu Sakaguchi, the head creator of Final Fantasty. This could hurt Sony.

Update: Hmm...the news made the xbox.com homepage feature box...why am I not surprised...

Crud... Of course we all know that nobody can replace Final Fantasy.

It just bugs me that the X-Box is trying.

Apple and Microsoft are allied, maybe PS2 and X-Box are too...

I don't know if I would say Apple and Microsoft are allied...so far the two platforms are compatible with each due to standardization of formats (like .gif, .jpeg, and the ability to save in .doc in programs other than Office). In most every other sense, they're fierce competitors. On Gamespot the other day I saw there was a rumor (note—only a rumor) that Halo 3 might come out the day the PS3 is released. Microsoft fights mean ;-).

Hate to blow your groove dude, but they are owned by the same folks in the end.

Guess what processor powers the X-Box2?

Not one, but TWO APPLE G5 processors.

Tell me they ain't buddys? ;-)

Yeah, in that way, they are working together. Cool, huh? That thing will be blazin'. But I was kinda refering to the "big picture"...pcs and all that. I wouldn't call em buddies just yet.
